HI, to everybody!! :) I'm newer in this forum, and I want to share/ask a little
problem that I have, In the office where I work, I use a Flash media that uses
Camera.get() to activate an usb camera on a local co,mputer, but now, the boss
has buyed a D-link DCS-950 G Internet Camera this camera is an IP camera and I
don't know how create a media that can connect to the camera.

I know that in a web browser the camera needs the CSViewer.ocx.

Can anybody helpme or give me a clue?

thanks in advance!!

As best I know, the camera needs to have the Flash VM installed, and needs to
have an internal webserver that you can run your .swf from. That way, the
camera is the client to FMS.

If you need to have the camear act like a USB cam maybe you can contact the
manufacturer and see if they have a driver that makes it look like a USB cam...
although I doubt they do.

Worst case... use a screen capture utility to grab the image from the camera,
and publish it as a camera through your .swf. It will be ugly, and you'll be
compressing twice, but you'll see it IP cam image in FMS.

A couple of year ago, I'll find an article where was explained how to
transform an Ip-camera in a local resource and so usable by FMS.
I don't remember exactly the procedure but it has something to do
with UPP (universal plug and play). May be Googling a little....

I have written scripts for OSX which allow IP Camera to FMS, Wowza, Red5 or any other Flash Media compatible server : by presenting the IP Camera to Flash as a standard Webcam.

Works with Skype, MSN or any other webcam apps also.

Please read the full article i have posted here;
